To work with the Director of Nursing, Divisional Director of Operations, and Medical Director to meet the division’s key performance targets, leading effective and efficient delivery operational and clinical services with particular emphasis on effective clinical care, as well as implementing the strategic, financial and operational plans and efficiently deploying the resources of the Directorate across both of our hospital sites.

Lead on clinical efficiencies and service improvement programmes, thereby raising standards of practice, productivity and value for money.

As part of the directorate senior management team, the Associate Director of Nursing will work alongside the Clinical Director to lead the delivery of quality governance for the Division. They will support the improvement and strengthening of quality of care (patient safety, patient experience and clinical effectiveness) by working closely with local governance leads. A key part of the role will include delivery of CQC standards and to work with the MDT to ensure the Division is continuously improving its CQC rating.

The post holder will be the lead professional for nurses and nursing teams in the Division and be an advocate for patients, families and carers in the achievement of clinical excellence. Locally, the post holder will lead on optimising and strengthening the role and responsibility of nurses within the Division, ensuring nursing workforce resilience and succession planning.

Associate Director of Nursing - Medicine Division, Band 8C

This is a key role in a dynamic Senior Nursing team, working alongside the Director of Nursing to provide strategic, operational and clinical leadership. This role will appeal to experienced leaders who will relish the challenging but stimulating environment within the medicine division. The post holder will be responsible for the Acute Medical Wards, Clinical Nurse Specialist and also the Emergency Floor incorporating the Emergency Departments, Same Day Emergency Cares, Acute Assessment Units

The Associate Director of Nursing will ensure that all staff have the adequate skills and ability to meet the demands of their speciality and will also be responsible for maintenance of quality and safety, and support for staff.
