The aim is to support all Nursing Associates whether you are newly qualifying, whether you have no community experience or are a Nursing Associate with community experience but want to join our Trust or want to develop further within a different team or Borough.

We aim to continue to develop your skills and knowledge as part of our staff development and career progression.

Our Support and Development Programme will provide the following:

- Work based support & supervision.
- Caseload Support and Management
- Training Opportunities
- Additional coaching and supervision from our Nursing Develop Team.
- Career Progression clinics and meetings with Head of Nursing
- Preceptorship programme 10 sessions (If within first year of qualification)
- Addition monthly sessions to support role development.

As a Community Mental Health Nursing Associate you will provide community patient led services and work with adults 18-65 years who have mental health issues, social needs and require support with their physical health needs by participating and leading within our health and well being clinics and visiting patients in the community to support their safety and recovery.

Our community multidisciplinary teams, comprise of nurses from Nursing Associates to Advanced Nurse Practitioners, occupational therapists, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, employment specialists, mental health practitioners, recovery support workers and peer support workers.

The teams are supported by good administrative systems and offers excellent working environments as we transform our older buildings into new with an ethos of team support and team ownership with supportive team managers and community leadership.

The Nursing Associate to Nursing will deliver high quality compassionate care. They will be competent to carry out tasks without direct supervision and will have an awareness of when to ask for guidance. They will be supervised by a Registered Nurse.

The Nursing Associate / Associate Practitioner will have completed a set of competency assessments that supports their practice.

Following assessments of patients, supporting the management of care needs through:
1. Initial data collection
2. Monitoring of individual patient progress
3. Feedback and discussion
4. Providing interventions and treatment
5. Devising a plan of care and interventions supervised by a Registered Nurse.
6. Supporting the fundamentals of care - physical, mental health and social.
7. To be aware of, and assist in meeting, the holistic needs of all patients, such as psychological, social, physical, recreational and spiritual needs
1. Recognising and valuing patients as individuals, acknowledging the importance of maintaining the patient’s respect and dignity at all times and ensure that the careprovided
