King's Lynn, United Kingdom Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHS Foundation Trust Full time

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Critical Care team and provide support via the role of House Keeper/Health Care Assistant. This is a dual role and will require the successful individual to be adaptable and flexible according to unit requirements. No previous experience is necessary but is desirable.

The successful applicant will receive training for both HCA and House Keeper roles and will be initially supported by current support staff and the nursing team.

The Unit has 16 beds providing care for acutely unwell medical and surgical patients, elective, trauma and paediatric admissions. The role will require you to develop an understanding of the unit work, assist with hands on patient care and use of electronic systems for patient records. This role also involves stock management and cleaning duties.

To provide supervised care and support for critical care patients as advised by registered staff and to ensure the critical care unit service delivery especially related to cleaning, food, linen and the environment is at the agreed standards. As per rota definition designated days will be given for nursing auxiliary and for housekeeping.

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) King’s Lynn is located near some of the most beautiful scenery in the UK, along the north Norfolk coast, and not far from Sandringham House.

We provide a comprehensive range of specialist, acute, obstetrics and community-based healthcare services to around 331,000 people across west and north Norfolk, in addition to parts of Breckland, Cambridgeshire and South Lincolnshire. We have more than 4,000 staff and volunteers, approximately 530 beds, and a helipad for air ambulances. We work with neighbouring hospitals for the provision of tertiary services, including as part of regional partnership and network models of care, such as the trauma network. Some specialist services and clinics are provided in community facilities, such as the North Cambridgeshire hospital in Wisbech.

We are exceptionally proud to have recently moved out of special measures and see this as a testament to the determination of our trust wide teams to put our patients first and recognise the hard work and dedication of all our staff.

Please see the attached Job Description for details.

This is a dual role so there are elements from both the Health Care Assistant and House Keeper roles included.
