Malvern, United Kingdom Maggs Day Centre Full time

Are you looking to make a difference to the lives of People Experiencing Homelessness in Worcestershire? If so, we are currently looking for a passionate Project Team leader to work at our Malvern Day Centre 2 days a week.

**Maggs Day Centre provides the basics, a lifeline to help people survive the worst of what life throws at them.**

Maggs was founded in 1984 after a homeless man died after years of sleeping rough on the streets. His death prompted members of several local churches to come together and form an action group. Their work led to a day centre being created in the former St Albans church, dedicated to helping people experiencing homeless in Worcester. Since then, we have expanded opening an 2nd Day Centre in Malvern, we have an Outreach Team who work in the community, a Clothing Project where people experiencing homelessness can get clean clothes and supplies, and most recently we have set up our accommodation project to provide temporary housing with support from Tenancy Sustainment Workers, with a view to tenants having the skills and confidence to secure permanent housing.

**Want to know more? Here’s what we need from you**:

- To be involved in making day to day decisions in relation to the smooth running of the Day Centre, consulting with the Operations Manager if necessary and available. Leading the team and manage the day to day running of the team, such as setting tasks and generally ensuring the tasks are allocated fairly
- To provide support for service users on 70/30 ratio - 70% of the time in support work and 30% leading the project.
- To maintain team discipline within the Centre. The Project Leader has authority to tackle the team in relation to alleged lateness, poor performance, breaches of codes of conduct and professional boundaries. To come up with practical solutions to day-to-day problems that arise
- Provide statistics when requested and ensure that daily monitoring forms are completed
- Develop detailed support plans for those ready to make positive changes in their lives. Assess the individual needs and set mutually agreed SMART goals, which will be reviewed regularly
- Helping Service Users to access healthcare, encouraging them to register with a GP or access the health hub services at the Day Centre when needed. Referring service users to other services and develop an holistic support plan in conjunction with the Service User utilizing MEAM principles
- To complete all relevant paperwork with all service users and to work with service user to progress. All our support packages need be tailored to individual needs. Ensure that record keeping is accurate and up to date, this includes documenting all work done and maintain records in line with Data Protection and Confidentiality policies and procedures. Complete Service User risk assessments and in conjunction with the Service User develop appropriate risk management plans.
- Maintain the expected standards of the Day Centre, which includes cooking, cleaning, and maintenance of the building.
- The scheme is relatively small and relies on colleagues filling in for each other. Everyone is therefore expected to carry out other duties and responsibilities, as requested, providing they do not alter the general level and character of this job description.

We warmly welcome applicants from black, minority, ethnic (BME) communities, disabled people and lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) communities, as they are currently under represented within our workforce - this diversity is vital to our journey and is fundamental to our values and enriches the service we offer the people we work with.
