**About the job**

We have a position available for a Programme Lead in East of England.

Cadent is the UK's largest Gas Distribution Company, operating 4 of the 8 UK Gas Distribution Networks (East of England, London, Northwest, and West Midlands). Their service spans over 131,000 kilometres of pipes supplying to 11 million homes & businesses.

**Key Responsibilities**
- To manage and deliver the preparation of the annual programme of works ensuring adherence to agreed targets for Mains replacement, Diversions, Reinforcement, Safety and Customer and Commercial.
- Production of the Costain CMO annual gas mains (replacement, diversions, and reinforcement) programme providing assurance that all Cadent policies, HSE related legislation and Costain CMO key performance targets are delivered
- Plan, programme and monitor Costain CMO gas mains laying activities in line with the agreed construction programme, ensuring that contract output requirements are adequately planned and resourced through consultation with the Operations Manager and the Local Delivery Partners.
- Chairing, leading, and ensuring accurate records are taken in relation to Programme meetings with the LDP.
- Liaising with the Operations Manager and Commercial where required communicating any resource issues or programme delays that are influenced by the LDP's.
- Understanding and deliver of Cost Value Reporting.
- Production of Clause 32 forecasts as required to ensure the integrity of the programme is always maintained.
- Work with Local Authorities via regular meetings and to minimise financial exposure through NRSWA and TMA penalties.
- Managing the preparation of progress reporting and other management information required to monitor the performance of Area Delivery Outputs (in conjunction with the Performance Manager)
- Facilitate the development of robust Resource reporting, and resource plans for the annual mains replacement programme linked to the ability to deliver
- Review and re assess the programme throughout the year detailing any amendments
- Ensure that processes are in place to monitor all critical work types and that sufficient time is made available to decommission these pipes
- Manage resources and people effectively and proactively in line with best practice and Costain CMO / Cadent frameworks and procedures.
- Identify, develop, and maintain a positive employee culture through effective communication processes and implementation of HR policies that encourage and reward appropriate behaviours and performance
- In conjunction with the Costain CMO leadership team, take responsibility for meeting agreed business performance targets, controls and operating costs, achieving investment plans, managing risk effectively and delivering all agreed outputs

**About you**

**Qualifications**
- Applicants would preferably be qualified to HNC or equivalent management accreditation.

**Work Based Competencies**
- A good overall knowledge of gas distribution procedures preferable
Experience in scheduling and planning of works
- Able to demonstrate experience of programme/project planning tools and techniques
- Strong Organisation and Planning skills

**Behavioural Competencies**
- Good communication skills are required and the ability to interface with senior level internal and external Stakeholders
- Excellent Influencing skills
- Decision making and people management experience
Additional Information
- The post holder will be required to interface with the Design, Commercial and Data functions on a regular basis, plus all other functions of the business as required.
- The applicant may be required to collaborate with other CMO's, sharing best practice and learning experiences.
- The holder will also be required to interface with Cadent IPO functions as required.
