Job Title : Band 2 Admin Clerk (PLATJOB20240350)

Location : Newry

Duration : Initially 3 Months

Rate : £10.42p/h

Hours : 15how Thursday and Friday - 8:30am - 4:30pm

KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

1. First point of contact for all patients and visitors both in person and on the telephone, dealing with queries using own initiative and taking appropriate action.

2. Responsible for booking clinic appointments as requested on PAS. Take responsibility for making sure patient details are correct and entering them on PAS, updating casenotes with any changes. Making up new charts when necessary

3. Distribution of booking lists to consulting rooms and pulling/filing charts for the clinics.

4. To print and collate clinic lists, booking summaries and receptionist lists for the following day’s clinics.

5. Liaising with ambulance control/transport if required and dealing with transport related problems as they arise for patients attending clinics.

6. Provide cover to any other area with the Nephrology division including ward clerk cover when required.

7. In liaison with the OPD team, ensure that patients are kept informed of any delays in the clinic.

8. Prepare patient labels for casenotes, for those patients who have identified any changes when arriving at reception.

9. Record all clinical activity on PAS.

10. Weed and remove charts from filing cabinets in the Renal Unit and move/file in another building.

11. Participate in regular team meetings.

12. Contribute to the induction and training of new staff.

13. Ensure the highest level of customer care and reflect a positive image of the Trust at all times.

14. Work within the Trust policies and procedures relating to Data Protection and confidentiality and ensure protection of patient data at all times.

15. Any other duties as requested by Line Manager.

**Experience required**:
1. 4 GCSEs at Grades A-C including English Language or equivalent / higher qualification

**OR**

1 years’ experience in a clerical / administrative role

2. Experience in the use of Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel or equivalent.
