Workington, United Kingdom NDA group graduate Full time

**Say hello to the NDA group graduate programme**

We're the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) group, delivering one of the world's most important environmental programmes to decommission the UK's earliest nuclear facilities.

Our group is responsible for 17 nuclear sites in all parts of the UK, together with specialist nuclear waste and international transport businesses. And our work is growing, with more facilities joining us to be decommissioned in the next decade.

Sustainability, safety, and security are at the heart of our long-term mission to prepare our sites for their next use, work which spans into the next century.

As an NDA group graduate, you'll get the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution towards the delivery of our nationally important mission. During our two-year graduate programme, you'll take part in three placements in different parts of the NDA group. You'll start with a 12-month placement, before completing two six-month opportunities. In exchange for your contribution, you'll be supported at the end of the programme to secure a role in the NDA group.

We have a number of project management and project controls graduate opportunities within the NDA group with offices and sites around the UK.

The NDA group is delivering one of the world's most important environmental programmes, safely and security decommissioning the UK earliest nuclear facilities; from decommissioning plan to waste management, packaging, and transportation through to storage.

As a project manager you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the creation and coordination of overall project plans, schedules and monitoring of activities, progress, and milestones. You'll support the preparation of procedures, documentation, communications and meetings. The identification, evaluation and learning from projects will also form part of the role. You will be expected to be a role model and encourage a 'safety first' working culture, maintaining compliance with applicable regulatory and statutory requirements and standards.

Within project controls, you'll facilitate early planning through to the production of detailed schedules for execution, ensuring supply chain data is aligned to the project requirements as set out in contracts, tracking and challenging costs to ensure they're appropriately underpinned. This will include tracking resource productivity, and analyse time booked to projects including resource usage vs. planned, resource constraints etc., providing reliable and consistent estimates to completion data, and perform quantity surveys in support of productivity analysis.

During the two-year programme you'll gain invaluable insights into the exciting range of projects across the NDA group, with placements in both project management and project controls. You will be working in multi-disciplinary teams, on a wide range of projects which may include design, construction, commissioning and decommissioning projects giving you the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of innovative solutions.

Throughout your programme, you will develop commercial skills and gain experience of scheduling, planning, financial and risk management and sharing learning to drive continuous improvement.

You can expect to receive a programme of professional development to enhance your skills and expertise, while also demonstrating a commitment to understanding the communities in which the nuclear sector works.

Throughout your two-year journey on the NDA group graduate programme you will be employed by Energus whilst being supported by an industry leading sponsoring organisation.

At the end of your two-year programme, you will be supported in securing a role with the NDA group.

**Entry requirements**
- Successful completion of security clearance checks
- Applicants must be willing and able to travel and relocate. Energus head office is based in Workington, Cumbria, however role locations will vary dependent on sponsor location.

**Start date: September 2024**

**Recruitment stages**

The recruitment and selection process consists of the following stages:

- Online assessments & videos - throughout your recruitment journey you will be invited to complete online assessments which may contain video elements.
