Fisheries Liaison Officer

Hours - Full time (37 hours)

Contract Type - Permanent (3 months probationary period)

Salary - £35,000 - £42,000

Bonus - An annual Bonus will be payable for each year of employment

We are looking to recruit a Fisheries Liaison Officer, to assist our Commercial Fisheries and Marine Team, in supporting their expanding client base. This is an exciting opportunity to lead on land referencing campaigns on some of the largest Renewables and Infrastructure projects in Scotland and the UK. You will have the opportunity to implement new processes to produce marine and commercial reports for clients in support of a range of marine renewables projects.

Main responsibilities
- Project Manage the provision of Company Fisheries Liaison Office services to multiple clients to support the consenting of a multitude of Marine Infrastructure projects.
- Lead on engagement, relationship building and negotiation with marine stakeholders on behalf of multiple clients.
- Support and advise on the processes of gear clearance and Notices to Mariners

Skills and Experience

The following are essential for successful applicant:

- Experience working on marine infrastructure projects on the Developer side or in a consultancy role.
- Strong proficiency interpreting information and data about commercial fishing activity.
- Knowledge of FLOWW guidelines

Other desirable skills
- A familiarity with GIS and the principles of spatial data management.
- Knowledge and experience of relevant Legislation e.g. The Planning Act, Electricity Act
- Understanding the importance of, and forming a trusting relationship towards co-existence, with individual Fishermen and Key Fishing Industry Representatives.
