Regional Lynch Syndrome Expert Network Pathway

London, United Kingdom London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust Full time

The appointed Network Pathway Coordinator will liaise between mainstreaming services in cancer MDTs and specialist services to ensure that all mainstreamed LS diagnoses are managed consistently. The co-ordinator will participate in internal audit and research and provide support:

- Local cancer MDTs via Lynch champions within MDTs
- Mainstreaming pathways
- Family history services
- Primary care clinicians
- North Thames cancer alliances
- North Thames GMSA

The role is suitable for an individual with good IT skills who is passionate about improving services for this previously under-identified group. The post holder would provide regional level co-ordination for the network and support the embedding of transformative Lynch testing pathways through the colorectal and endometrial cancer MDTs within the North Thames Genomic Medicine Service Alliance (GMSA) region. Although beneficial, no prior knowledge of genomics is required for this role and all appropriate induction, training and ongoing support will be provided.
- Monitor and support development of nationally agreed expert network key performance indicators, namely;
- Mainstreaming
- Number cancer MDTs in region: X/Y
- Support available for training yes/no
- Multiprofessional participation
- MDTs: Frequency and numbers referred
- Specialist clinics
- Website development
- You will establish the new North Thames Lynch Syndrome regional services register and the associated services that this will allow. You may contribute to changes to the way this strategy is developed related to your experience of setting up the register.
- You will implement changes when appropriate. This will involve planning and organisation of activities and or programmes which might require the formulation and adjustment of plans for the Lynch syndrome register and expert network. This will include reinforcement of links between cancer services and the Genomic laboratory Hub.
