Live Well Project Support Officers

At Swindon Borough Council, we want our town to be the best it can be. Our ambitious vision is supported by realistic transformation programmes, with the people of Swindon at their heart. Because that’s who we’re doing it for - the communities and businesses that make our town great. As part of the Council, you will support a friendly local authority making decisions with real impact. It’s all for better public services, better processes, and a better quality of life, for everyone. Join us, and Swindon will be better with you.
You are one of our integral Live Well Project Support Officers. Our Project Support officers work across the team, ensuring that all our projects run smoothly and efficiently. The team are often customer facing and work hard to deliver projects that improve health outcomes, and reduce inequalities for local people. We are currently focussing on a number of projects including Health Inequalities, Volunteering, Migrant Health and the Cost of Living. These roles specifically focus on migrant health and contribute to projects and activities that in particular, help people from Ukraine who have settled in Swindon to feel supported and motivated to live healthy active lives. We focus on providing opportunities for connection to the wider community and welcome participation from all of Swindon’s residents including refugees and asylum seekers from other nations to ensure a holistic and universal offer.
**Your next role**
As part of a growing team, you will work with colleagues from across the organisation to provide community based projects with inclusion at their heart. No two days will be the same and you will often be a point of contact for members of the community. You will be led by an experienced Project and Team lead and colleagues in the wider team, and will focus on ensuring that the Live Well offer is evidence based, person centred, well planned, safe and effective. You will always be curious to notice if someone you are working with might benefit from additional support or advice to ensure that residents, especially those facing the greatest inequalities, have positive healthy lives.
- You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”)._
- You must be able to drive or have access to a car in order to be available to support sessions and events around the town._
**Your next package**
Please see our Rewards and Benefits offer for more details.
For Swindon to thrive in the future, we need to lay the foundations now. It’s why our regeneration and transformation programmes are already underway. So, you’ll be joining us at an exciting time on our journey. We’ll look to you to share your knowledge, influence decisions and drive real, positive change. With your contributions, we’ll achieve our vision of a prosperous, re-vitalised Swindon by 2030 together. And you’ll be proud to say it was made better with you.
Please see our Vision and Values page for more details.
