We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Behaviour Mentor to join our team. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a crucial role in providing support and guidance to students with challenging behaviour, helping them develop positive coping strategies and make progress in their academic and personal lives. This is a rewarding position that requires excellent communication skills, authority, and a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of young people facing behavioural challenges.

**This is a full-time role - Monday to Friday.**

**Hours: 08:30 - 3:30**

**Responsibilities**:

- Work closely with students exhibiting challenging behaviour, providing them with individualized support and guidance.
- Establish rapport and build trusting relationships with students to foster a positive and supportive environment.
- Implement behaviour management strategies and interventions in collaboration with the school's behaviour management team.
- Assist students in developing coping mechanisms, conflict resolution skills, and strategies for self-regulation.
- Conduct assessments to identify triggers and underlying causes of challenging behaviour, and use the findings to develop targeted support plans.
- Provide ongoing monitoring and evaluation of students' progress, adjusting strategies and interventions as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents/guardians, and other stakeholders to ensure a consistent approach to behaviour management across different settings.
- Act as a positive role model, demonstrating appropriate behaviours and attitudes to inspire students and promote positive change.
- Document incidents and maintain accurate records of student behaviour, progress, and interventions.
- Attend training sessions and professional development opportunities to stay updated on best practices in behaviour management and intervention strategies.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- ** Enhanced Child & Adult DBS ideally on Update Service** - or willing to apply.
- No minimum requirements, but a bachelor's degree in Psychology, Counselling, or a related field is an advantage.
- Previous experience working with children or adults exhibiting challenging behaviour.
- Strong understanding of positive behaviour support strategies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with students, staff, and parents/guardians.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations and de-escalate potential conflicts.
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to build trusting relationships with students.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
