As part of the advisory team working with other HR Advisors, to provide a quality operational HR advice and support service to all Havens Hospices staff (circa 300) on all matters relevant to the employee lifecycle.

To provide professional advice and support to the organisation, managers and staff on matters such as terms and conditions, employee relations issues and HR policies and procedures escalating to the HR Manager as necessary.

At Havens Hospices, we care for children, young people and adults with complex or incurable conditions. Our specialist Care Teams can support them and their family living throughout illness, death and bereavement in the comfort of their own home and through our hospice services, Fair Havens and Little Havens.

To provide guidance and advice to employees on queries in relation to their employment, including pay, benefits, conditions of service and to advise on their maternity, paternity and adoption rights.

Co-ordinating employee relations activities such as grievance and disciplinary hearings and performance management meetings to ensure the smooth running of the process and to bring about effective resolution.

Coach and advise line managers on the full range of HR matters.

Co-ordinate and engage with external parties (including occupational health, recruitment consultants, trade union partners and employment specialists) as necessary on the full range of HR Matters.

Collaborate with the Director of People and OD and HR Manager to develop and implement new ideas in relation to the continuous improvement of the HR Service and wider organisational culture change.

To lead and contribute to HR time limited projects.

To work with the Head of People and OD and HR Manager in drafting, developing and incorporating HR strategies, policies and procedures into organisational culture.

To ensure the HR service maintains appropriate and up to date record systems and personnel files in compliance with Data Protection, other relevant legislation, and requirements of financial and other systems of audit.

To attend internal and external meetings to represent HR Services and work in partnership to understand business matters and how HR can best support these departments.

Participate in appropriate internal and external educational programmes to ensure continued professional development and accurate and up to date knowledge of UK employment law and relevant legislation/best practice.

To deputise for the HR Manager on occasion as and when needed.

Provide operational support for colleagues in both the team and the wider service as required.

Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety and other organisational policies and procedures.

Comply with Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR requirements in all working practices maintaining confidentiality, integrity, availability, accuracy, currency and security of information as appropriate. Take personal responsibility for all personal data within own working environment.

Such other duties temporarily or on a continued basis, as may reasonably be required, commensurate with your grade.
