Stock and Waste Management Controller

PrepWorld is looking for a **Stock and Waste Management Controller** and lead the Packaging/Yard Supervisors in daily running of shifts and their teams, including ensuring all technical requirements are adhered to in terms of Packaging and that Waste Streams and that document control is completed correctly.

Working collaboratively with the different departments including Purchasing, Production, H&S and Technical and supporting the Yard & Packaging Manager where required.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Taking ownership and pride of the areas and processes whilst upholding exemplary standards
- Instilling positive attitudes and resilience in the team
- Making sure all company policies are adhered to and that relevant paperwork is always filled in correctly and to the standard required
- Ensuring weekly stock counts are completed accurately
- Overseeing shift handovers and weekly meetings
- Support and guide supervisors in the development of the team, making sure that staff training, HR requirements and probation reviews are kept up to date
- Making sure Supervisors are holding effective staff meetings (team briefings, 1-2-1s) and providing guidance in the development of their leadership, time management and soft skills
- Support staff members in developing a Continuous Improvement mindset
- Supporting the Yard and Packaging Manager in highlighting and implementing Continuous Improvements
- Ensuring H&S standards and good practices are at the forefront of decision making
- Supporting TLs when Supervisors are on annual leave
- Attending relevant meetings between different departments
- Liaise with Training/Compliance in creating new Work Instructions
- Support Supervisors in training out Work Instructions and Briefings
- Making sure standards are kept to and that the areas are always ‘Audit-Ready’
- Keeping staffing levels (permanent and agency) within agreed budget, that maximum daily hours are not exceeded and the 11hr break is adhered too
- Keeping track of staff holidays and ensure all annual leave is taken evenly over the year.
- Assist the Yard and Packaging Manager as needed with the hiring of new staff
- Ability to learn new IT and work systems.
- Have a good understanding of the packaging process and knowledge of all SKU-types, with a strong attention to detail
- Have a good understanding of the Waste Management process and knowledge of different waste streams
- Identifying areas to the Yard and Packaging Manager where key savings can be made and come up with any cost saving initiatives
- Ensure all staff are carrying out their duties as per all procedures and in a safe manner

**Who we are looking for**:

- Good understanding of manual handling procedures and safe use of MHE (FLT, PPT, MPT)
- Good understanding of safe working practices
- Food safety and barrier control knowledge is advantageous
- Team management experience
- Understanding Continuous Improvement
- Excellent timekeeping and reliability
- Good level of English communication skills (Speaking, Writing and Listening) & Numeracy skills
- Experience with diverse workforce will be advantageous
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Food Safety qualifications and H&S and Risk Assessment knowledge is advantageous
- **Experience managing team members is essential**:

- **Warehouse/stock control experience is essential**:

- **MHE experience is advantageous**:

- **Waste Management experience is advantageous**:

- **First aid & Fire marshal trained (advantageous) - but training can be given**
