**Project Engineer / Graduate Project Engineer - up to 32k per annum**

Park Cakes is a c£180million business which supplies cake and desserts to service the own brands of major retailers, there are two sites both based in the North West at Oldham and Bolton.

Our products include, high end celebration cake products, slab cakes and mainstream desserts, we mostly supply Marks & Spencer’s although we also supply other major retailers.

**Job Vacancy**

**Job Purpose**
The role forms a link between our Engineering department and external suppliers. The successful applicant will support the Engineering Projects Team by delivering capital projects within an annual budget in excess of £1 million.

**Example Accountabilities**
- Liaise with departments cross functionally to ascertain requirements and define project scopes
- Writing capital projects
- Controlling budget and spend forecasting for approved projects
- Preparing specifications/briefs which will go to external suppliers for tender
- Managing tender processes including supplier selection exercises
- Visiting and assessing suppliers as required
- Managing external suppliers throughout project lifecycle
- Lead, monitor and review projects internally across departments
- Co-ordinating all contractors in accordance with our policies
- Managing adherence to our safety standards and all legal and regulatory requirements
- Assist the Engineering Project Team with a wide range of ad hoc activities

**Knowledge, Skills & Experience**
- A degree or equivalent in Engineering or time served Engineering qualifications with a further education qualification in project management
- A high level of organisation and project planning skills
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively work in a team environment
- High level of IT literacy (and ideally fully conversant with MS Project)
- Full UK driving license

The following would be advantageous:

- Previous experience of project management in an FMCG food manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of applicable regulations e.g. lifting regulations, LOLER, ATEX, DSEAR, PUWER and CE marking
- Experience in AutoCAD
- Prior experience with Construction, Design and Management (CDM) processes

**Working Hours and travel**
- Core working hours are 7.30am to 4:00pm Monday to Thursday and 7.30am to 3:00pm on a Friday, however flexibility is required to support the business, so you will need to work outside these hours on occasion.
