The University of Northampton is seeking and inspirational individual with knowledge and experience of physical activity promotion. The Physical Activity Activator will be hands-on in co-ordinating and delivering a range of physical activity and health-related initiatives to internal and external individuals and organisations as part of the University’s Active Campus project, alongside related initiatives designed to drive employee physical activity engagement and improve health and wellbeing.

The post requires the leadership and coordination of a timetable of exercise classes and sport activities alongside supporting strategic projects with partner organisations such as West Northants Public Health. You will be expected to work flexibly to create engagement opportunities, and to meet demand for and deliver Active Campus initiatives.

**About you**

You will be responsible for demonstrating effective and appropriate duty of care and overseeing the health and safety of yourself and others.

**Qualifications**

**Essential**:

- Undergraduate degree in a relevant area of study such as physical activity and health, sport and exercise science, or sport coaching
- Current personal training and first aid qualification coaching qualification or membership/accreditation of relevant regulatory organisation

**Desirable**
- Recognised fitness and/or coaching qualification or membership/accreditation of relevant regulatory organisation

**Faculty**

The UON is an Active Campus university and a key stakeholder in West Northamptonshire’s Active Quarter which is dedicated zone supporting local communities to be more active, create safer and more accessible opportunities for cycling, walking, green and blue space physical activity.
