**WHAT TO EXPECT**

This role will lead the implementation of software for all in vehicle HMI displays.

The purpose of this role is to enable JLR agility and responsiveness to change, with much greater levels of efficiency than can be achieved with traditional Tier 1 software procurement, following the principles of the DPP Architecture “North Star”.

The key focus is the lead the software team to develop the functional software models and HMI artefacts for auto code generation, for onwards integration into the cockpit controller.

Leading a highly technical team of multi-skilled software, test, and tools engineers to maximise the value of deployed software product at every sprint.

A crucial aspect of this role is to lead the roadmap for HMI software development across all of our brands and ensure that the solutions developed meet the needs of functional safety, cyber security, and toolchains are harmonised to ensure portability and futureproofing across vehicle architectures.

**THE ROLE**

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Software Development using Agile best practices
- Responsible for HMI software architecture and design
- Development of compliant software models following industry guidelines
- Developing the GUI software using the relevant toolchain for the platform
- Leadership of the Software Roadmap including toolchain harmonisation
- Ensuring all produced software artefacts are tested with a high degree of automation and coverage
- Building software using JLR CI/CD pipelines, with tightly controlled versioning and traceability
- Produce software and artefacts compliant to UNECE156
- Drive efficiencies into the Software creation and toolchain
- Lead the Roadmap Development, the Quarterly Business Review and planning for the Group
- Be the Agile Servant Leader for the team
- encouraging empowerment, facilitating the tools and resources, and removing obstacles

**WHAT YOU’LL NEED**

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Relevant previous experience of delivering complex products across large organisations
- Software Engineering, Test and Delivery experience at scale
- Knowledge of JLR vehicle architectures
- Understanding of the regulatory constraints and quality goals

Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Degree qualified or equivalent experience preferred
- Knowledge of design Quality Operating Systems and deliverables
- Understanding of digital design toolchains
