**About the Role**

We have an exciting opportunity for a Housing Support Officer to join our small team in Leeds. This is a fixed term position for 12 months. As the **Housing Support Officer**, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our housing and income management team to meet the needs of the business. The Housing Support officer role will be split into two, time crucial functions, to provide support for the Regional Housing Managers and support for the Income management team to ensure tenancy sustainability and to maximise rental income. This is a varied and exciting role, and it will require strong partnership working with our housing and income teams to provide excellent housing service to our tenants.

This position will be based at our office in Yeadon although you will have the option to work in line with our hybrid working policy and work some of your contracted hours from home.

**Key Responsibilities will include**
- Working closely with the Housing team to supporting the allocations and lettings process. This will include liaising with other professionals, such as our care providers, social workers, legal appointees to let our homes in a timely manner and to ensure tenancy sustainability.
- Provide administration support for the housing and income team.
- Submitting all new HB intentions in a timely manner and assisting the income team to submit housing benefit claims.
- Supporting the reconciliation of tenant accounts with payment receipts to maintain up-to-date and accurate tenant rental balances.
- Contributing to the setting and submissions of rent and service charge submissions.
- Maximising rental income by supporting the housing income team with proactive low level arrears management.
- Raising and collection of tenant recharge invoices.
- Ensuring that all records, both manual and computerised are updated in an agreed, timely and efficient manner including the completion of any necessary returns to the organisation or external agencies.

A working knowledge of Housing benefits and the allocations and lettings process within the social housing sector together with a Certificate or Diploma in accounting i.e. Institute of Credit Management (ICM) or the Credit Services Association (CSA) would be advantageous although is not essential.
