This is a new role within the Security Management Team in which the post holder will be an integral member of the team. it is an exciting time as the Security Management Team is expanding and developing the service functions within the Trust. The post holder will have a background in I.T. systems and will be responsible for developing the improvement and integration of I.T. Security Systems and maintaining them to ensure the highest level of physical security across the Trust’s sites.

The purpose of this role is to provide dedicated and consistent development and administration of the Security Systems including CCTV, access control, alarm management, electronic key management and support for the Security Management in the use of the Trust’s incident reporting system. The post holder will also provide support as required to the Security Core Skills Trainer.

The Security Management Team is a new team made up of highly experienced security professionals who are committed to providing a safe and secure environment for its staff, patients, visitors and Trust assets. The Team is highly motivated and extremely busy. Many of our workstreams are new within the Trust so the post holder will be instrumental in effecting change to security system, policies and procedures. Photo I.D. / Access Control Systems
- Assisting with the planned transition from several photo I.D card systems and two access control systems to a single unified photo I.D./access control system.
- Maintaining the Photo I.D./access control system
- Developing functionality between security systems and administration of those systems

Trust Incident Reporting System
- Review security and violence related incident reports to ensure additional data is collated from other I.T. sources particularly regarding key demographics and report production.

Security Core Skills Training
- Assisting the Security Core Skills Trainer with administrative tasks and systems.

Sanctions
- Provide centralised administration of all sanctions issued by the Trust against individuals who have assaulted or verbally abused staff.

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a large acute hospital Trust in the county of Kent.

The Trust provides a full range of general hospital services and some areas of specialist complex care to around 500,000 people living in the south part of West Kent and the north part of East Sussex.

The Trust’s core catchment areas are Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells and their surrounding boroughs. We work from two main clinical sites: Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury. Tunbridge Wells Hospital opened in 2011 and provides single rooms with en-suites for all in-patients - the first of its kind in the country.
