**Role: Parenting **Practitioner**
**Salary Up to **£25,500 per annum**
**Contract/Hours**: Permanent Full Time - 37 hours a week. Monday to Friday (some weekends and out of hours)**
**Location**: Droitwich, **Worcestershire**.**

**About The Role.**
Action for Children deliver parenting and community services as part of the Starting Well Partnership in Worcestershire. Our services are based across 5 Family Hubs across South Worcestershire where we provide support to parents and carers of children and young people.
The Parenting Practitioner will work with families with children and young people aged 0-19.
**What you will do**:
- Deliver evidenced-based parenting groups to parents/carers from a range of settings including family hubs, schools, community venues, virtually.
- Provide a high-quality service to children, young people, and their families, based on an assessment of need and is outcomes driven.
- Support families to access parenting groups, on a one-to-one basis. This may include supporting families in their homes.
- Develop and deliver one-off parenting workshops, based on emerging needs.
- Liaise with venues to arrange delivery. Take responsibility for promotion, recruitment and retention to groups.
- Provide lead case/care planning management, including undertaking assessing, reviewing, and managing risks.
- Attend and participate at relevant multi agency meetings, providing a lead role ensuring reflective and analytical practice review.
- Be responsible for day-to-day resource planning to ensure high quality services are delivered.
- Establish and develop effective relationships and channels of communication with children, young people, families, colleagues, community organisations, partner agencies and other external agencies.
- Retain accurate and contemporaneous records, using various IT systems to capture information and to produce written reports and present these as necessary.
- Review and evaluate service provision with others, ensuring continued improvements are made.
- Supervise, guide and direct staff and volunteers where necessary.
- Ensure a safe and positive work and service environment is achieved through compliance with all safeguarding, safer recruitment, health and safety policy and procedure.
**Let's talk about you**:
- NVQ3 in Early Years or Social Care linked with health and wellbeing, or relevant professional qualification or experience.
- Effective team working skills, strong communication and IT skills.
- Experience of work with children, young people, or families.
- Ability to manage demanding workloads and change priorities quickly.
- Experience of facilitating groups and delivering an evidence-based programs.
- Experience of working with vulnerable parents is desirable.
- Have access to a vehicle and willing to use for business purposes.
- Ability to work with both children and families.
- You are sensitive and accepting of different styles of families and taking an inclusive approached based on how the individuals define their family unit.
- Willingness to undertake further training where required.
- Basic knowledge of child development.
