Overview

The industrial placements scheme at Renishaw is suitable for students who are required to undertake a sandwich placement as part of their degree course.

What will I be doing?

Successful applicants are placed directly into a Renishaw software development team, contributing directly to our current product development, as a means of learning software engineering in industry. Teams will pitch the work at a level geared for the individual, with progressive personal development aimed at creating a confident and productive software engineer over the course of the placement.

What will I gain?

During your placement you will build on your existing software skills by working as a member of a software team whilst following the Software Development Lifecycle. Your team manager will provide you with suitable programming tasks which help move the product closer to delivery. The placement also provides various training courses and support should they be required. This experience will be the beginning of your professional development and serve as a strong platform for the completion of your degree and future career in Software Engineering.

What skills and experience do I need?

Applicants must have:- Have demonstrable interest and some experience in writing software or solving problems using code.

Where will I be working?

This role is based at our New Mills site near Wotton-under-Edge in Gloucestershire and you may on occasion be required to travel to other Renishaw sites for work. Renishaw supports working from home, the amount of which is decided by individual teams directly.

Where will I be working?- New Mills head office near Wotton-under-Edge in Gloucestershire- Renishaw is in a semi-rural location therefore it is essential that you have your own form of transport or are willing to relocate to the area-
- Possible occasional travel to other Renishaw sites- Renishaw offer working from home and office working patterns dependent on the software product team.
