Support Worker Flexible Hours
**Looking for a worthwhile job with the hours that work for you ?**
Join us as a Relief Support Worker, we provide support 24 hours a day seven days per week so we can probably offer the hours that suit you.
**How Relief hours work**
It's a bit like a zero hour contract but without the bad bits.
- You don't have to work when it's not convenient for you.
- Receive the same training towards professional qualifications as permanent staff.
- We offer these contracts not because it suits us but because it suits you.
- Job security and career development
The Relief (Bank) post supports the permanent rota staff by completing shifts that are vacant due to annual leave, training and other staff absences. As such, hours are non-specific but your manager will endeavour to balance the needs of the service against your own work/life balance as appropriately as possible.
We normally plan the rotas one month in advance, but additional opportunities also come up due to unexpected staff absences.
**So what would you be doing?**
You'll join our friendly team of Support Workers at one of our small, homely supported living services in
You'll support three young men; Ben, Joe and Gary*, who live gloriously ordinary lives in Abingdon.
Ben has a great sense of humour and is full of chat and banter, although he needs some peace and quiet as well. He's a good swimmer and enjoys swimming with other people. He enjoys train travel, shopping and he’s a fast walker Joe knows his own mind and how he wants to live his life, which includes a love of music. Gary is a beautiful, warm human being who loves horses, nature and art.
You don't need experience: we provide extensive free training. You'll receive a competitive salary of £11 per hour and a range of benefits including access to the valuable Blue Light discount card.
You can choose whether to work full-time or part-time, and you'll take your turn on a rota which includes days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
- _Names changed for privacy_
**About you**
You don’t need any particular experience or qualifications. We sometimes find people with an interest in psychology do well in this role, or perhaps you're considering a specialist career supporting autistic people.
You will need a manual driving licence (the men have their own cars). You'll be a ‘people person’, creative, flexible and have bucket loads of initiative and great resilience.
**About us**

We were founded in 1966 by the visionary parent of a child with disabilities and have been growing steadily ever since. We celebrate and develop everyone’s unique gifts, talents and contributions.

Just click the button marked “Accessibility” at the top of the screen.
**COVID-19 Information**
