Job Title: Senior Care Assistant (Nights)

Location: Grovewood Residential Home, Wirral, Merseyside

Grovewood Residential Home is a well-established, family-run care home located in the beautiful area of Wirral, Merseyside. We provide person-centred care for elderly residents, ensuring they maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life. We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our dedicated night team.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide high-quality, person-centred care to our elderly residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

2. Administer medication to residents as prescribed, adhering to all medication management protocols.

3. Monitor and assess residents' wellbeing throughout the night, promptly reporting any changes or concerns to the on-call nurse or home manager.

4. Support residents with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, and toileting, while promoting their independence and respecting their dignity.

5. Assist in the delivery of individualized care plans, working closely with residents, their families, and other members of the care team.

6. Participate in handover meetings at the start and end of each shift, ensuring accurate and timely communication of information to colleagues.

7. Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a safe, comfortable, and homely environment for residents.

8. Provide companionship and emotional support to residents and their families, particularly during challenging times or periods of transition.

9. Mentor and support less experienced care staff, providing guidance and encouragement to promote professional growth and development.

10. Maintain accurate records and documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and home policies.

**Requirements**:
1. Minimum of NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) is required, with a preference for those holding NVQ Level 3 or working towards it.

2. Proven experience in a senior care assistant role, preferably within a residential care home setting.

3. Experience working with elderly residents, particularly those with dementia or other age-related conditions.

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team and build strong relationships with residents, families, and colleagues.

6. A compassionate and empathetic approach to caring for elderly residents, demonstrating patience, understanding, and a genuine passion for their wellbeing.

7. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and bank holidays as required.
