8.00.a.m to 4.00.p.m, (37.50 hours), Wednesday to Sunday. Must be flexible in hours and days of work to meet the demands of the business.

**The Person & Role**

You will be a people person, friendly and confident, possessing excellent communication and customer service skills. You will also need to be highly organised, with good attention to detail, having the ability to multi-task and prioritise, and meet deadlines. Naturally, you will be a good team player and be capable of using high levels of common sense, coupled with the ability to think outside the box.

Our technical department plays a crucial role in maintaining and monitoring compliance, hygiene, quality, retail and product specifications, auditing, and much more, crossing paths with all department heads and colleagues across the Company.

You will work closely with the technical manager, providing information and administration support, as well working collectively within the wider technical team. Throughout your work, you will undertake an array of technical related tasks, which help monitor our quality management system and ensure product quality, legality, and safety, whilst making sure that we are adhering to customer codes of practice. You will also predominantly investigate and handle customer complaints.

**Daily Duties**
- Checking, collating, and filing bakery quality inspection records, issuing non-conformance, closing out corrective actions, where necessary
- Organising and completing finished product traceability
- Organising and completing raw material mass balances
- Organising and completing finished product mass balances
- Carrying out weekly and monthly glass and hard plastic audits
- Arranging samples for micro and nutritional analysis
- Carrying out GMP audits
- Assisting in BRCGS customer audits
- Maintaining compliance with the BRC Global Standards for food safety and retailers’ food manufacturing standards
- Checking packaging and deliveries, against the approved library samples and assuring correct documentation and certification
- Requesting and filing raw material and packing supplier certificates of conformity and analysis
- Calibrating monitoring equipment
- Conducting personal and environmental swabbing
- Carrying out customer taste panels and quality attribute checks
- Log, investigate and respond to customer complaints

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Experience of working within a technical team, quality, or compliance role, within food manufacturing environment - essential
- Knowledge and experience of working with traceability and mass balances - essential
- Level 2 food safety qualification - preferred
- Knowledge of HACCAP principles - preferred
- Good understanding of the BRC Global Standards for food safety, and retailers’ food manufacturing standards - essential
- Fully conversant with Microsoft; Outlook, Word, Excel - essential
