Core Responsibilities

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be stationed at the manufacturing facility, overseeing a team of two quality inspectors who report directly to the Group Quality Manager. Your main responsibilities will include addressing daily quality issues, instituting new protocols, and elevating overall quality benchmarks.

You will engage with suppliers, including managing documentation for new products, making this an ideal position for a Quality Engineer aspiring for advancement or a Quality Manager looking to transition to a different role. Furthermore, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the highest quality standards are upheld throughout the production and distribution processes.

Key Duties

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of quality inspectors.
  • Perform supplier evaluations to ensure compliance with specifications and requirements.
  • Establish and uphold quality standards across the manufacturing facility.
  • Conduct inspections prior to dispatch to confirm the quality of products leaving the site.
  • Manage and sustain quality management systems and documentation to ensure adherence to ISO 9001 standards.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and quality records to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.
  • Ensure a clear understanding of product requirements and specifications with both suppliers and internal teams.
  • Investigate quality concerns and non-conformities, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive measures.

Qualifications and Skills

  • To be considered for this Quality Assurance Engineer position, candidates should possess a background in manufacturing or engineering within a quality-focused role.
  • A minimum of HNC/HND in an engineering or quality assurance discipline is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing setting is essential.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems, particularly ISO 9001, is necessary.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings proficiently.
  • Experience with root cause analysis methodologies and the implementation of corrective actions is preferred.
