**Overall Purpose of Job**:
To provide a quality of service befitting the standards of IMT Medical Transport Limited (IMT Medical). To be

responsible for preventing injury and to care for patients, the general public and all others. Delivering a service that is

safe and caring for the conveyance of all patients, associated medical personnel, staff, others and equipment. To be

extremely alert to the safety and safeguarding of patients, the general public, other road users and to drive safely and

responsibly to all concerned in response to medical driving tasks. To ensure the protection of the ambulance vehicle or car and for ensuring that equipment is secure at all times.

To provide services that support the environment we work within ensuring safety, effective care and treatment, to be

responsive and caring to the needs of patients or others in our care and support and deliver all governance

requirements of the Law, IMT Medical and other regulatory bodies i.e. CQC, our clients, etc.

This position is homebased on call 7am-10pm.

**Main Responsibilities**:
1. To develop yourself in all key areas of responsibility to ensure maximum personal contribution to your position within

IMT Medical.

2. To understand and comply with the rules, principles and requirements of any legal or regulatory structure that IMT

Medical works to or within.

5. To uphold the values of IMT Medical and adhere to the Policy, SOP and risk Documents and KPIs outlining those values.

6. To drive the ambulance or other vehicle to and from a medical or administrative task as directed.

7. To operate the ambulance or other vehicle in accordance with all applicable laws. Adhere to the Highway Code and speed limit at all times and that driving is safe and the patient is comfortable

8. To provide a professional and caring service for all patients whilst in the care of IMT Medical.

9. To provide safeguarding for all patients, client staff members, or carers or others.

10. To ensure that at all times patient safety remains paramount and that safe systems of work are adhered to regarding care, stretchers, carry chairs, wheelchairs, clamps, seat belts and on occasion restraint items etc.

11. At all times to follow Policy, Standard Operational Procedures (SOP) and Risk Assessments abiding by IMT Medical or designated training organisations’ training for the care, collection, conveyance and handover of patients.

12. To complete all paperwork in respect of patient transfer accurately and legibly and return it to base at the end of a shift.

13. Carry out informal and formal risk assessments to assess hazards, then implement safe systems of work and reduce risks to yourself, patients and other persons involved.

14. To ensure that appropriate reaching, lifting and handling techniques are applied as per training when moving patients under non-emergency conditions, using appropriate equipment where necessary.

15. Report and escalate all safeguarding, safety, health or other matter directly to IMT Hub Operations (Control Room) and use the SOP documents (13-01 / 13-02 / 13-03) for escalation accordingly. Report facts concerning accidents or incidents to IMT’s Hub and your Line Manager.

16. Preparing the vehicle, undertaking all required checks as per policy prior to commencing a shift. Ensuring the vehicle is kept tidy at all times and all personal belongings are removed at the end of each shift. Report defects and deficiencies of the vehicle and equipment.

17. Check all vehicle inventory items are in date and replace all items of vehicle inventory used at the end of a shift. To maintain the vehicle and equipment in accordance with infection control.

18. Remove and replace soiled linen and equipment in order to maintain sanitary conditions.

19. Providing social care in all situations.

20. Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed according to current policies and procedures.

21. To be responsible for the cleanliness of the vehicle in service at the time of your duty as detailed within Policy or IP&C or regulatory requirement.

22. To ensure that only IMT Medical issued uniform is worn and is clean and presentable at all times.

24. To have submitted and been cleared to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (Undertaken by IMT Medical).

26. You shall not have been convicted under the influence of alcohol/drugs or not have been convicted of reckless driving or had your driver’s license suspended under the point system. Any changes to this must be reported immediately to your line manager.

27. To take part in staff development programmes and annual development reviews and/or undertake further training if and when required
