**Job title**: Facilities Operative

**Location**: Cambridge, Cambridgeshire

**Salary: £21,197 - £23,144**

**Job type**: Full Time-Permanent

**Responsibilities**:

- Carry out daily inspections of the premises and identify any potential health and safety hazards or maintenance issues.
- Carry out general maintenance and repairs, such as changing light bulbs, painting, meter readings.
- Carry out departmental moves including furniture removals.
- Receive, collect and distribute postal deliveries to all sites using vehicles whilst keeping records accordingly.
- Undertake general external maintenance e.g. gully clearing, jet washing, snow clearing and litter collection using the appropriate provided equipment.
- Building inspections in line with written procedures. Reporting accordingly, taking full responsibility for reporting defects accurately.
- Regular checks of health and safety equipment.
- Liaise with other members of the Estates & Facilities teams.
- Assist in the removal of waste and recycling programs across the campus.
- Car park patrol duties when required.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential
- A basic understanding of health and safety regulations
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the role
- Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
