Role Purpose

To help our managers look after their teams, taking account of the health needs of our people.

Help managers understand occupational health issues that may arise and what they can and must do to support their teams.

The Occupational Health Lead UK is accountable for leading and overseeing the Occupational Health service provision for our staff.

They provide advice, support, and guidance to the UK safety team, functional and delivery managers and employees to support occupational health issues and engagement.

Managing OH service providers and implement control and quality assurance processes to ensure we get the best value for money for our people’s needs.

To lead the development, update, and review of policies, procedures. Being accountable for the management of UK occupational health procedures and influencing and reviewing procedures which require occupational health engagement.

Implement an occupational health strategy that supports wider QinetiQ Strategy.

Key Capabilities/Knowledge

Ability to maintain OH records in a secure and confidential manner, in line with GDPR regulations

Help shape and advance both occupational health of our people and this role in our organisation to make the health and wellbeing a priority.

Influence others to ensure Occupational health is considered at all levels in the organisation.

Manage supplier relationships and measures of effectiveness to ensure service provision is as expected.

Understand occupational health and its role in the safety and wellbeing of our people.

Provide support and advice managers about required occupational health assessments and related issues

Medical knowledge and experience ideally registered nurse (Band 6+).

Knowledge of wellbeing as a factor in occupational health is desirable.

Experience & Qualifications

Experience and knowledge of OH issues, Health and wellbeing.

Advising, leading and negotiating with senior managers in relation to health management

Able to work in UK and achieve required Security clearances.

UK driving licence

This role is available on site and remote with flexible working negotiable. Some travel required to support our diverse locations across the UK.
