Job Role:

- To source work for the haulage operation and grow our customer base, ensuring maximum trailer fill and profitability.
- To plan for, monitor and manage drivers hours to ensure legality whilst maximising fleet utilisation.
- To manage the use of the flexible fleet by forward planning for peak periods and allocating resources accordingly.
- To plan the local multidrop delivery routes for the following day ensuring that any time requirements are met, that space, weight and drivers hours are adhered to, and that the collections schedules are achievable.
- To monitor the delivery and collection workload, dealing with any potential issues ahead of time to facilitate 100% success rate on all deliveries and collections, and allocate additional work as required.
- To monitor driver performance and report to the management team on any issues potentially affecting the success rate of the operation.
- To debrief the driver team fully each day.
- To build meaningful relationships with the right contacts across our customer base, and to advise them ahead of any delays or potential issues.
- To liaise effectively with the network, other depots, third party hauliers and the management team on potential delays or issues.
- To liaise with other departments across the business to ensure whole team success.
- To man the driver phone line at all times.
- To assist the customer services team as required.
- Other duties as and when required by the business and within the competences of the individual.

Hours of work - 42.5 hours per week on rotation, Monday to Friday 08.30-17.30 and 12.30 - 21.30 with Saturday mornings on call approx 1 in 7

**Requirements**:

- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and other office software.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Computer literacy with the ability to use IT systems effectively.
- Prior experience in transport planning is required.
- Knowledge of driver hours and WTD regulations.
- Good geographical knowledge of the UK
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
- Working in a fast paces environment, you must have the ability to think and act quickly and be flexible to adapt to changes that the role demands.
- The ability to build robust working relationships with colleagues whilst ensuring effective workload management is key to success within this role.

Pay: £28,000.00 per year
