At Companies House, we are part way through an extensive and exciting transformation programme which includes legislative, digital and cultural change. This role will be key in the successful delivery of that programme. Reporting directly to our Director of Transformation Delivery and working closely with the growing portfolio and project team and collaborating with the Head of PMO (Project Management Office) and others across our organisation, you will be the Head of Portfolio Delivery and the Head of the Project Delivery Profession.

You will lead the Portfolio function, covering not only our transformation programme but also other developments vital to our future. You will support your team and our Senior Responsible Owner (SRO) community to deliver a diverse range of high-quality products at pace. You will be responsible for development, monitoring and effective delivery of the portfolio plan and, as a skilled professional with extensive experience of Portfolio management and delivery, you will work with others to shape our portfolio to achieve our strategic objectives and drive forward delivery.

As our Head of Project Delivery Profession, you will collaborate closely with the Head of PMO to ensure effective implementation of functional standards, monitoring and implementing our development plan to mature and continuously improve this function.

As a senior leader, you will also have a role to play as a member of our Corporate Leadership Group - role modelling our culture and behaviours, demonstrating strong leadership, promoting collaboration and ensuring accountability and ownership of our outcomes.

**Job description**:
Our Head of Portfolio Delivery will be accountable to the Director of Transformation Delivery for overseeing and managing the delivery of our portfolio - monitoring portfolio spend against budget, benefits realisation, business change and risk, with emphasis on delivering strategic outcomes at pace.

You will be responsible for:
Head of Profession for Project Delivery
- Agreeing the strategy and plan for developing the Project Delivery Profession, for prioritising and resourcing work activities - including talent management and support for professional development.
- Providing visible leadership to the Project Delivery Profession and community. Role modeling positive behaviours and professional excellence. Inspiring others and helping to create a profession individuals feel proud of.
- Building productive relationships with other key functions and professions. Communicating key messages, driving communities, events and providing a voice for the Project Delivery Profession.
- Establishing mechanisms to understand supply and demand requirements for project resources.
- Ensuring the implementation of the Project Delivery Functional Standard (002) principles by supporting the Head of PMO in developing and maintaining the Continuous Improvement Assessment Framework and ensuring the required changes are implemented.

Head of Portfolio Delivery
- Working with business areas to identify and categorise new projects for a decision on entry to the portfolio and providing regular updates on our pipeline to Delivery Board, Executive Board, Main Board and other governance boards.
- Portfolio, programme and project governance, along with the Director of Transformation, working with and supporting the Head of PMO to establish a clear governance framework and reporting regime aligned to Management of Portfolios best practice. Co-ordinating reporting from projects and providing analysis of performance at portfolio level for review by governance bodies.
- Championing the implementation of our portfolio and providing a shared vision and sense of purpose. Promoting an energised culture, focused on collaborative working in the interests of the organisation and portfolio.
- Maintaining our portfolio delivery map and critical path to monitor project progress. Recognising and tracking inter-dependencies across change projects. Recommending how financial and other resources are allocated across change initiatives, to optimise our return on investment. Developing strategies to address resource gaps.
