**Locum Band 6 Acute Neuro Occupational Therapist - Bucks**

We have a fantastic opportunity for a locum Occupational Therapist to join a leading teaching hospital, based in Buckinghamshire. They are seeking a qualified OT with previous Acute Neuro Rehab experience.
- To participate within complex rehabilitation and contribute to its function.
- To undertake assessments of patients with complex and diverse presentations.
- To undertake advanced, comprehensive, and where applicable, standardised assessments within the specialised clinical areas.
- To use clinical reasoning skills and knowledge of evidence-based practice to determine treatment plan using a wide range of treatment skills and options.
- To analyse and interpret clinical and non-clinical information to form an accurate diagnosis in a wide range of conditions, with guidance from specialist Occupational Therapists when appropriate.
- To demonstrate highly developed assessment and therapeutic skills necessary for the treatment of patients.
- To use knowledge to formulate problem lists and decide subsequent treatments, goal plans and selection of outcome measures.
- To determine the most appropriate setting for assessment and or treatment e.g., department, ward, community.
- To be responsible for organising and planning own caseload to meet service and patient priorities, readjusting plans as situations develop.
- To be able to identify own professional limitations and seek senior advice when appropriate.
- To participate in a project of interest and benefit to the service or team, that has been identified in consultation with senior staff.
- To achieve and maintain a level of skill in information technology which is relevant to the post.
- To assist Senior Occupational Therapy staff inthe development and integration of new procedures and evidence-based practice.
- To maintain comprehensive, accurate and evaluative records of patient care, in accordance with professional, legal, departmental and Trust requirements.
- To coordinate patient related activities, which may include other disciplines/ patients/carers/relatives/other health professionals, e.g., goal planning, group activities.
- To provide advice, teaching and instruction to patients’ relatives, carers and other professionals

**Position Requirements**
- HCPC Registered
- Minimum of two years postgraduate experience
- Previous clinical experience performing a similar role within an Acute Neuro setting
- 3 month (minimum) locum assignment to start as soon as possible
- Full time hours (Monday - Friday)
