If yes, our Practice Educator role could be just right for you. We are looking for an experienced paediatric nurse who has good clinical skills and has a passion for teaching health-related tasks to non-registered staff and NHS support workers who deliver care in the child's homes and within KCC short
breaks units.

As part of this role you will provide expert and specialist advice, teaching, assessing, supervision and support within the team in order to ensure they are competent to deliver efficient and safe care to the children and young people and work collaboratively and effectively with all other health care professionals and those allied to health and social care involved with the children and families.

As a Practice Educator you will communicate information in an empathetic way to parents and carers which relates to the clinical care of their child/young person and the provision available to them.

You will have sound knowledge, experience and skills in all basic clinical nursing skills such as enteral feeding, care of enteral devices, care of tracheostomies, suctioning, oxygen therapy, care of stomas, emergency interventions during seizures and administration of medication etc.

In addition, you will act as a specialist health resource for nursing support workers and social care colleagues within the short breaks service and external to it, and provide expert nursing assessment, analysis and judgement skills to them in order to ensure provision of an equitable service within the unit.
