An opportunity has arisen for a Projects Officer to support the delivery of a range of complex cross-council, cross-organisational and departmental transformation projects. The projects will involve working with corporate sponsors, service leads and internal/external senior stakeholders and plays a key role in the recently restructured Transformation and Change Team.

**Do you have the following skills and experience?**

**1) **Support the delivery of projects that support cross-Council and departmental change to the appropriate levels of quality, time, budget and performance

**2) **Lead on smaller projects and workstreams

**3) **Support the establishment on business cases, project plans, risk registers and other key project documentation

**4)** Manage stakeholder relationships effectively.

**JOB CONTEXT**:

- To support the project management and delivery of a broad range of significant and complex Corporate Projects ensuring delivery at pace and completed on time, within budget and to the highest levels of quality with the expectation of managing Stakeholders at all levels to ensure success of any given project.
- Support the Corporate Projects Manager by reviewing key projects, progress, provide challenge and support to the Project Board.
- To support Corporate Project Manager on the Welland Procurement Contract and co-ordinate procurement for projects for the Council to ensure best value for money is obtained through effective procurement processes.
- When areas are identified for improvement, support the Projects Manager work with those function leads to design, build and deploy effective impactful solutions to enable the organisation to meet its operational and strategic goals.
- Work in line with the Council’s Vision and Values to promote a culture which aims to deliver a high standard of service by working together to exceed our customers’ expectations.

**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- To support the Corporate Projects Manager on the whole project/procurement and change management processes in line with the council's transformation programme.
- Help prepare and maintain comprehensive action plans, including resources, timeframes and budgets for projects.
- Support the co-ordination of project tasks including scheduling, risk management and the identification of opportunities
- Support the Corporate Projects Manager in administration of managing budgets in relation to projects.
- Support the Corporate Project Manager to oversee all Projects Council wide to offer support and assistance to other project leads.
- Provide internal training to peers on the project management process and protocols adopted by the Council.

**Procurement**
- Support the preparation of administrative documentation for the procurement process using Welland Procurement.
- Support the training on the procurement process with officers to ensure awareness and officers adhere to the process.
- Help with the report writing summaries to be delivered to the Senior Leadership Team and the Projects Procurement Board highlighting contracts and status.

**Change Management**
- Support the Corporate Project Manager administratively on process improvement.
- Support administratively ongoing strategies, developing concepts into workable solutions with frameworks, processes and collaterals, communication and deployment plans.

**RESPONSIBILITY FOR RESOURCES**
- The post holder will be required to ensure that any data systems under his/her control are kept secure and properly managed.

**KEY FUNCTIONAL LINKS WITH**:
**Internal**:All employees of the Council and Elected Members.

**External**:Other Local Authorities, external suppliers and consultants, and other external bodies, partnerships and organisations as required.

**WORKING CONDITIONS & ENVIRONMENT**
- The post holder may be required on occasion to work outside normal working hours to attend meetings or other occasions when your professional attendance is required. This will be accommodated under the rules outlined in the Councils flexi working arrangements.
- The post is situated within the Main Council Offices at Station Road, Wigston. However you may be required to work from other sites and places within the Borough where your professional attendance is required.
- The post holder will be required to work occasionally outside normal working hours including weekends to support projects or complete essential tasks.
