You will be a digital communications specialist; bringing in-depth knowledge on how to plan, build, deliver and measure digital communications activity (internal and external) with a creative flair that brings content to life.

You’ll have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail and the ability to create engaging digital content.

In this role you’ll support the development, maintenance and evaluation of the Trust’s existing range of digital channels and platforms including the staff intranet, external website, social media channels, as well as helping to bring new and innovative ways to approach communication to NBT.

You will engage with and provide support to a range of staff and stakeholders, including senior management, project groups, service users and partners - honing and shaping our digital communications.

In addition to supporting all things digital, you will play an active role in communications across the team, including where necessary handling media enquiries, supporting events, and the development of communications materials.

Day-to-day responsibility for the Trust’s digital channels - supporting the communications manager with the development, management and regular monitoring and evaluation of platforms including the staff intranet, external website and social media channels.

Devising a digital marketing strategy that aligns with the Trust’s wider objectives and priorities - helping to bring new and innovative ways of communicating with internal and external audiences to NBT.

Producing high quality multimedia communications for a range of platforms including website, social media and video production.

Commission, write, edit, proofread and co-ordinate complex internal and external content and campaigns.

Analyse complex data to produce reports on digital performance including making decisions on how to respond to data trends to improve performance against objectives.

Support the objectives and activities of the communications team, including handling media enquiries, organising / facilitating events and the production of communications materials. Provide any necessary communications activities in the event of a major incident.

Be primarily responsible for ensuring best practice in the communications team regarding information governance, and supporting colleagues where necessary.

Be the main point of contact in the communications team for the Trust’s innovation, digital and transformation strategies.

Play an active role in the development and implementation of the Trust’s engagement strategy.

The role is primarily office based but visits to wards and other parts of the hospital will be necessary.

Some contact with patients will take place.

Travel to other Trust sites or to external venues may be necessary.

Management of a large and diverse workload with competing priorities and constantly bearing in mind issues of precedent which may have implications across the Trust.

The workload will be varied and unpredictable so initiative is required to prioritise, resolve problems, undertake analysis or investigation including following up enquiries and obtaining information from other members of staff.

Working with stakeholders both within and outside of the Trust to ensure the most efficient and appropriate provision of services.

There will be a frequent need to work to tight timescales often at short notice.

Working with frequent interruptions, and short deadlines.

There will be direct exposure to emotional or distressing situations regarding patient stories.

Light or occasionally moderate physical work such as carrying equipment for workshops or to team meetings may be required.

The post-holder is a Display Screen Equipment user.

Provide out-of-hours communications support to the Trust as required, as part of an on-call rota within the communications team.

Able to deputise for managers within the Communications and Engagement team where appropriate including responsibility for supervision of other team members.

Support the digital communications manager with the Trust’s digital communications with external and internal audiences.

To monitor and respond to all comments and messages on social media channels.

To provide and receive highly complex information and utilise the social media and other systems available to write, edit and proofread for all internal and external communications some of which may be of a contentious or sensitive nature. This also includes regular updates to ensure information being shared is accurate and up-to-date

To work with staff across the Trust to creative high-quality digital communications.

Regularly use software to create reports on digital performance.

To chair meetings and create project / communications plans.

To act as a representative of the communications team and the Trust at internal and external meetings.

Influences and persuades staff on appropriate communications approach.
