**Head of D & I (Inside IR35)**

**Contract Term**: 6 Month

**As a Head of D & I your main key responsibilities would be to**:

- Provide expert guidance to Senior stakeholders and business leaders on Diversity and Inclusion by contributing perspective, insights and knowledge, and taking a systematic approach to help the organisation achieve measurable results.
- Develop and implement a blended inclusion training and development plan, with a particular focus on managers and leaders that builds a shared understanding of the expectations around inclusion and every individual’s role within it, including the presentation of sensitive or contentious information.
- Provide analysis and expert advice on how diverse and inclusive mainstream people and organisational processes and practices are.
- Promote and champion an environment and culture where the inclusion agenda is owned by everyone, and where difference is valued and celebrated.
- Develop key strategic partnerships with all Network rail regions and functions to execute their Inclusion strategy creating positive action interventions to support under-represented groups.
- Work with the diversity networks to establish an approach to listen to and engage with the wider community including harder to reach groups in support of the overall inclusion plan.
- Review and monitor the profile of the population of Network Rail against our target key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop employment initiatives, in collaboration with the recruitment services, to enable our profile to be appropriately represented.
- Provide expert advice and strategic input to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Senior stakeholders as necessary.
- Monitor all local diversity and inclusion work streams by frequently reviewing our inclusion plan so that milestones within the agreed strategy are purpose and the business is responding to any feedback emerging from engagement activities.
- Establish a ‘calendar of events’ to enable a strong and pivotal presence to be built around inclusion successfully completed and it remains fit for

**Essential**:

- CIPD Qualified-Highly desirable
- Experience in stakeholder management across all levels.
- Experience driving a D&I strategy by running programmes & initiatives to fulfil goals and demonstrate measurable progress.
- Interest in researching D&I best practices, including ongoing education.
- Understanding of EU/UK regional nuances, including languages, cultural norms, and laws.
- Influence and partner with cross-functional working teams, including both HR and business team members, to launch on-time, effective programmes.
- Knowledge of data tracking and an ability to analyse data to measure results.
- Ability to proactively identify risks/issues and challenges and then provide solutions & resolving these.

- Leading programmes and projects with an HR, diversity and inclusion environment.
- Educated to degree level.
- Member of project association
- Knowledge of the principles of investment processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of / experience in the UK rail industry
