Family Support Worker - Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council

We are looking for **Family Support Worker **will be based at:
**We are currently working with Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council to help recruit for a Family Support Worker,**

1. Management of a caseload of children and families using engagement, assessment and planning skills to understand need and ascertain the right level of support required with the family.

2. To employ evidence based approaches such as Restorative Practice and Signs of Safety Rotherham Family Approach) and co-facilitation of evidence based parenting programmes to support children and families in a range of environments (e.g. home, school, community, residential placements.)

3. To carry out detailed and comprehensive Early Help Assessments and multi-agency plans created with the child and family that lead to positive, long terms sustainable change.

4. To coordinate and chair Team Around the Family Meetings and attend other relevant forums that support children and families. This includes being a proactive, ‘can-do’ professional that holds the child and family needs at the heart of practice.

5. To make use of IT, chronology, genogram and recording keeping skills, ensuring that records for children and families are thorough, accurate and stored safely, proportionately and legally; this includes the accurate writing up of contacts within 24 hours of the contact taking place, or sooner where possible.

6. To employ effective skills in case coordination to ensure that vulnerable children and families have their needs met and that non-delivery by agencies is challenged and/or escalated to senior colleagues appropriately.

7. To inform effective supervision through appropriate preparation and reflective skills.

8. To create and maintain strong multi agency partnerships that promotes effective joint working and appropriate step up and step down arrangements for families.

9. Undertake professional development and training in order to continually develop practice and embed reflective skills on a daily basis**.**

10. Contribute to data collection to highlight the impact of Early Help intervention for children and families.
