Do you have excellent organisational skills and enjoy meeting deadlines? Are you looking for a role where you can make a difference? This is an exciting opportunity to work on a programme which makes a real difference and to gain level 3 apprenticeship in Business Administration.
The post is within the Department for Education’s English Curriculum Policy Unit. The team you will work in manages the national network of 34 English hub schools. Each English hub is a primary school selected for its expertise in developing language skills and teaching reading. Hub schools will work to increase reading standards across the country and to improve educational outcomes for the most disadvantaged children, particularly in underperforming schools. We are a very friendly and flexible unit, and we support and encourage development at every level.
We value adaptability, inclusivity, effective challenge, and personal development, and strive to deliver the highest standard of work in all that we do. We value diversity and recognise the importance of including input from a range of stakeholders in the policies we develop. The work of the English Unit is high-profile, notably so at the moment given the importance of literacy in education recovery.

- Supporting wider team members with a wide range of tasks to ensure priorities are met

- Overseeing the division's function and processes (working closely with policy colleagues) to respond to Parliamentary Questions, Freedom of Information requests and other related business of state.
- Ensuring mailboxes are monitored. Delegating actions and following up with individuals on overdue actions.
**Person specification**:
We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills and experience using various computer software packages including experience of designing spreadsheets using Microsoft Office.
