THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT UNTIL 31ST MARCH 2025 DUE TO FUNDING.

We are seeking an Assistant Behaviour Specialist to work in Facing the Challenge, a service for children and young people with learning disabilities who display behaviours that challenges.

The post holder would ideally have experience of working with children and young people with complex presentations, and the families/carers that support them.
- To carry a caseload but not hold case responsibility
- To contribute to the production of comprehensive assessment and intervention plans for users referred to the service
- To contribute to data collection using direct and indirect methods
- To contribute to assessment reports
- To contribute to the development of positive behaviour support plans
- To support Behaviour Specialists to collate and analyse data
- In conjunction with Behaviour Specialists, to work directly with service users who presents with severe challenging behaviour, carers, families and provider agencies to support the effective implementation of such plans
- Have frequent exposure to service users with severe challenging behaviour
- Deliver care to meet the needs of service users in care plans aligned with agreed standards
- To maintain accurate records of professional/personal activity and service user progress
- To undertake Positive Behaviour Management Training and implement physical interventions when supporting service users with challenging behaviour if required
- To contribute to the planning and delivery of training delivered by the team
