**The Role**

The postholder, reporting to the Head of Corporate & Legal Affairs, is expected to support delivery of positive share of voice and advertising value equivalents in the trade media in support of Imperial’s commercial objectives. Key focus areas include our Next Generation (e-vapour) and tobacco portfolio plus support to internal communications and social media channels as may be required.
**Principal Responsibilities/Accountabilities**:
**Tobacco and E-vapour Media**
- Work with an external trade media agency and the Head of Corporate & Legal Affairs to support delivery of regular, effective communications (e.g. press releases, responses to journalist queries, feature submissions, reputational management) to increase Imperial Tobacco UK’s (ITUK) retailer and consumer advocacy, plus share of voice and advertising value equivalent re: our tobacco and e-vapour portfolios.
- Both the tobacco and vape press agenda is delivered via an agency, and is primarily focused on the traditional trade press. The postholder will be involved in helping to co-ordinate and support both workstreams under the direction of the Communications Manager. They will be required to liaise effectively with the Sales and Trade Marketing teams at all levels within ITUK.
- Work with design agencies to book & place timely trade press advertising (print & digital) across trade and vape press to support ITUK’s tobacco and vape agenda. Update advertising calendar as appropriate.
- Build and maintain relationships with relevant media stakeholders (both editorial and sales) as and when may be required.
- Monitor and collate relevant cuttings and report/present metrics when required
- Represent the company/brands at any launches and/or events e.g. expos featuring national/trade/vape press as necessary.

**AIT Trade**
- Alongside AIT Manager, support _Suspect it? Report it _(SIRI) Anti-Illicit (AIT) Trade campaign across print and digital mediums. Channels to include trade press, social media (co-owned with AIT Manager), SIRI website and any internal comms.

**Internal Comms**
- Maintain the ITUK internal comms calendar.
- Support teams within ITUK (e.g. I&I, NGP, SMS, HR, Learning & Development) plus broader Cluster on any ad hoc communications initiatives. To include co-ordinating agencies with occasional design support
- Coordinate and deconflict effectively with Group Comms colleagues.

- Previous knowledge and experience of FMCG environment (inc. trade press)

**Knowledge**
- Awareness of relevant trade media and corporate affairs agenda
- Familiarity with design & print processes
- Awareness of ITUK/IMB’s corporate policies and positions

**Skills/Abilities**
- Strong strategic, written and verbal communication skills. Ability to multitask across a broad comms remit
- Aptitude for media relations
- Aptitude for building relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent IT skills, including a knowledge of, and interest in, digital communications including social media
- Absolute discretion and an ability to stay ‘on message’
- Good networking skills - ability and aptitude for developing contacts at different levels, especially internally, trade & regulatory media, and design/media agencies

**Qualifications/Training**
- Educated to a degree level or similar

**Other Attributes**
- Confident presenter
- Design software specialism (e.g. Poppulo, Photoshop)
- Previous experience of invoicing systems (e.g. SAP / Basware)
