The main duties of this role are to provide safe, personal and effective care and support to patients, families and service users

The post holders will complement the existing team and have excellent interpersonal skills. Appropriate experience would be advantageous, but training and support will be given. Applicants must be self-motivated and reliable, will be required to work flexibly and have excellent communication and organisational skills. The service offers development opportunities and the chance to work in a dynamic and supportive team.
- The post holders will undertake a range of duties which include:
- Reception duties - to advise and direct all patients and visitors to the department. Book patients in that are attending the Unit, checking details/ patient information for accuracy as required
- General office duties e.g. filing, photocopying, faxing. Answer internal and external telephone enquiries and redirect messages to appropriate personnel. This includes dealing with sensitive and confidential information and distressed clients / clients with special needs on a regular basis
- Checks and enters patient details onto hospital PAS/Patient Centre system. Input patient details into Endovault and other electronic systems and print off reports as required.
- Liaise with medical records/Waiting List office/Consultants/ GP’s / X-ray etc.
- Exchange information with patients, relatives and staff on admission, transfer and discharge including distressed clients, clients with cultural/language differences and clients with special needs
- Work flexibly in order to ensure the needs of the service are met, including flexing hours during annual leave and absence etc.
- Compiling of admission packs ensuring patients’ notes are available in readiness for surgery/clinics together with scheduled endoscopy lists, prioritizing work and solving problems relating to medical records
- Filing of endoscopy reports, histology, and endoscopy documentation in patient records, booking patient records into and out of department.
