Academy Coach (CIDS)
Contract Type: 23 - month fixed-term employment.
**Salary**: £30,000 per annum

1.Background

In doing so, we remain committed to developing and supporting teams across our men’s, women’s and Academy set-ups that inspire and compete at the highest level of the game; in pursuit of this, It is recognised that the Club and professional football must better reflect modern Britain. Everton Football Club, in partnership with the Premier League, are seeking to improve the diversity of football coaches in the professional game to make this area more representative of society and the playing population.
1.What is the Coach Inclusion and Diversity Scheme?
The fixed-term employment opportunity will include coaching and observation across the Academy, and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams. Successful applicants will enter the Premier League’s Coach Development Programme which is accredited by Leeds Beckett University. Upon successful completion of the programme, coaches will receive a Diploma in Professional Football Coaching. The development programme includes mentoring, workshops, peer learning, projects, and need-led access to FA/UEFA coaching qualifications.
3. Objectives of the Scheme- To increase the number of coaches who are from Black, South-Asian and Mixed Heritage backgrounds, including women from all backgrounds in full-time coaching positions in English professional football.- To provide coaches on the scheme with a fixed-term employment contract and development opportunities within a Premier League or EFL Clubs- To substantially improve long-term employment prospects for coaches who complete the scheme.- To provide each of the coaches with their own development programme to ensure that they are appropriately supported to become successful coaches and visible role models.- To assist in diversifying the workforce at Premier League or EFL Clubs, promoting a culture of equality, diversity and inclusion

Within this development opportunity you will operate within the Academy Coaching team at Everton Football Club. The responsibilities will include the development and delivery of sessions across the Pre-Academy, Foundation, and Youth Development phases; in line with the Coaching philosophy, Academy vision and Club values. Sessions will be engaging, supporting the development of the Academy players in alignment with the technical and tactical coaching programme. There will also be a requirement to work with the wider Academy multidisciplinary team to create and maintain the profiles of the players; utilising available support and resources from Sports Science, Performance Analysis, and Medical where required. Fundamentally, the person will play a key role in the management of relationships within the playing, parental, and staff, groups they operate within; ensuring effective relationships and positive experiences are achieved for all.
The individual must have previous experience of providing high quality coaching and development experiences to children and young people, with an energy to support their development both on and off the pitch. In addition to this, they must have an appetite to learn and develop themselves, looking to maximise the opportunity to absorb information and experiences from the coaching population and wider Academy group. Effective communication and relationship building skills are essential, to enable positive connections with players, staff, and families.
