**The Role**
**Responsibilities will include**:
- Defining the strategy for performance capability and technology development, including engaging with project and senior stakeholders, managing budget, and delivery to time and cost.
- Creating a supportive and inclusive environment and a learning culture within the performance skillset to expand the capability & expertise of engineers. Support and encourage knowledge sharing of design and analysis processes, methods, and tools.
- Creating a culture for expanding the capability & expertise of the performance skillset through knowledge sharing and proactive development of design and analysis processes, methods, and tools.
- Leading or supporting preliminary engine or thermal management cycle studies through identification and trading of key performance and cost metrics, and 0D/1D steady-state modelling of system architectures
- Leading or supporting preliminary vehicle trade studies, including vehicle sizing, mass, layout, and aerodynamic and trajectory analysis work
- Driving performance analysis in support of test programs and strategic projects
- Supporting continuous development of in-house methods and tools
- Representing the company in technical bids, design review gates, and external technical communication.
**Qualifications**:
**To be successful you’ll need**:
- In depth knowledge of thermodynamics, fluids, and heat transfer
- Experience in propulsion system / thermodynamic cycle modelling, flight vehicle performance analysis, or thermal management system design and analysis
- Experience in leading product, technology, or capability development projects
- Experience in numerical methods, and proficiency in coding or scripting including MATLAB

**Salary: £50,000 - £75,000**
**Working hours**: Full time, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week.
