- Demonstrate leadership and commitment to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ). Actively encouraging and leading the HZI and contractor teams to implement and comply with project HSEQ requirements
- Ensure that relevant HSEQ requirements are incorporated into ensuring safety in Electrical and Mechanical systems and, in consultation with site management, HSE and Commissioning team, that HSE hazards are eliminated or mitigated to the extent practicable
- Ensure that risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) have been reviewed with regards to HSE requirements and that work is carried out in accordance with the RAMS
- Ensure that adequate precautions are taken to provide safety from the system whilst construction / commissioning work is carried out
- Provide guidance for others to work safely whilst construction / commissioning work is carried out throughout the commissioning phase
- Responsible for effectively communicating system safety reequipments to all involved in the work on the relevant systems
- Responsible for the safety and HSE performance of all personnel under their control, and for stopping work where this might be compromised
- Oversee installation of the HV switching equipment (11kV or higher in special circumstances) and LV switching equipment
- Responsible for the safe energisation of the equipment
- Responsible for switching operations on the HV and LV switch gear and boards supplied by HZI and HZI Contractors
- Prepare and manage safety documents (Safe systems of work) applicable to electrical and mechanical activities on site using the HZI Management Systems. This shall include Switching schedules and Permit system
- Maintain key safes and other equipment used in the isolation of electrical and mechanical systems
- Coordinate with the Site Manager / Commissioning Manager/ Site HSE Manager on all site related activities
- Nominate and authorise Site Appointed Persons (APs)
- Deliver Lessons Learned and feedback for current and future projects
- Liaise with the District Network Operator (DNO) and Independent Connection Party (ICP) on all aspects of connections and switching on the network

**Your experiences**:

- Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- Experience as site electrical supervisor within construction or related field
- Site Manager Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or equivalent
- Experienced in using HSEQ Management and knowledge of relevant HSEQ legal and management system requirements
- Experience in all areas of Lock Out Tag Out (systems and equipment)
- Valid Safety Contractors Certificate (SCC), Safepass (ROI), CSCS or CCNSG card or equivalent
- Recognised training in the SAP Role
- HV operational safety trained with a recognised training body
- Minimum 5 years site experience as an active Appointed Person
