**Positive Employment** is currently recruiting for a Senior Catering Assistant role in Slough

We need a cook to join our Romsey Close Nursery here in Slough in September. The hours are 07:45-14:00pm. This will involve a light breakfast, preparing of snacks (fruit etc) and then cooking the lunch time hot meal for around 45 children. We need the same person every week for at least 6 months so we would need some commitment, this is not a position that we can train lots of people for. They need to be trained in the dietary requirements and managing allergens

The successful post holder will be able to demonstrate planning, preparing and serving a range of meals for children attending the Children’s Centre

**DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES BUT NOT LIMITED TO**:

- To plan, prepare and serve well-balanced, nutritious daily meals for children of various ages, adapting the menus to suit special dietary needs as required.
- To organise the purchase and storage of the food and catering items and to manage food stocks.
- To maintain high standards of cleanliness, health and safety during food preparation, ensuring that food hygiene regulations are followed.
- To maintain the tidiness and organisation of the kitchen/food preparation area.
- To uphold the childcare setting’s policies on equalities and inclusion.
- To implement any other of the childcare setting’s policies and procedures as relevant to the post, ensuring that the day care standards are met and records kept as required.
- To attend planning and staff meetings as required.
- To work in any of the authority’s childcare settings as required.
- To undertake any other duties which may become necessary to ensure the successful running of the setting.

**Personal Requirements**:

- At least one year’s experience of food preparation in a catering environment
- A Level 2 qualification or equivalent in catering and food preparation
- A foundation certificate in food hygiene
- Good listening, literacy and verbal skills, combined with the ability to record information clearly
- Enhanced DBS

**WORKING HOURS AND RATE**:

- Mon - Fri, 07:45-14:00
- Rate: £16.50 p/h

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Temporary contract

**Salary**: £16.50 per hour
