About The Role

We are recruiting a full time **Community Link Worker** to join the Early Years Alliance team in **Luton**. The post holder will work as part of the Flying Start/Family Hub team, providing a range of family services to improve outcomes for children. This will include outreach to schools and early years settings alongside community sites, working proactively with the community, voluntary and statutory sectors to support access to appropriate services and activities for families. The role will involve delivery of parenting programmes and key public health messages with the aim to improve health outcomes and support positive parenting. **Main duties of the role**
- Work as directed, alongside EYA/Flying Start colleagues and partner agencies, to support families from pregnancy to five years, using one to one interventions that aim to build confidence, motivation and resilience using person-centred and strength based approaches.
- Support delivery of antenatal and postnatal groups, as part of the family hub offer, at a variety of times, including twilight and Saturdays on a rota.
- Facilitate evidence-based parenting programmes including (but not limited to) the parenting puzzle and Henry healthy families and parenting workshops; both within the community and in partner venues across Luton as well as virtual delivery.
- Deliver key public health messages to families with a focus on supporting healthy lifestyles, oral health, social and emotional development, communication and language development, child safety and children with special educational needs and disabilities.
- Increase family registrations and engagement to family hub services with a focus on improving the health and well-being of families.
- Increase engagement of fathers and raise awareness of the importance of the role of the father.

**Essential criteria**
- Level 3 qualification in Early Years or proven demonstrable experience of working with families providing early intervention services in the early years, either in a children centre, early help team, childcare setting, school or community group.
- GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
- Commitment to supporting families and increasing opportunities to help reduce health inequalities.
- Experience in facilitating groups such as parenting programmes or workshops.
- Good understanding of baby and child development and the role of the care giver.
- An understanding of the key messages that support healthy lifestyles and social and emotional and communication and language development.
- All successful applicants will be required to register and subscribe with the DBS Update Service (if you have not already done so) and undertake a new enhanced disclosure and barring check (even if you have an existing DBS Certificate)._
