**Location**: Paneltex**:Hull, Somerden Road

**Reporting to**: HR Manager

**Salary**: 30 - 35k per annum DOE

**Hours**:Monday - Thursday 08:00 - 17:00, Friday 08:00 - 14:30.

**Other Benefits**:Equivalent of 32 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays), Contributory pension scheme & Life Assurance cover.

**Job Overview**

The HR Advisor is responsible for providing support in the various human resources and functions, which include employee relations, recruitment, staffing, training and development, and performance monitoring. The HR Advisor will build and develop relationships with managers and staff at all levels to provide support and guidance on a range of HR matters and share best practice throughout the business. Working as part of a proactive, innovative and responsive HR team to provide pragmatic, creative and business focused HR solutions. The HR Advisor will support and develop the members of the HR team.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
- Dealing with various HR queries throughout the business in accordance with legal requirements
- Reviewing and updating job descriptions
- Support HR manager and provide advice on a full range of HR matters, to ensure the effective management of staff to achieve business needs
- Advising managers on recruitment and selection strategies
- Acting as the point of contact for hiring managers, employees and other HR team members
- Assisting with and developing recruitment campaigns
- Coordinating the onboarding process for all temp and permanent employees
- Monitoring key performance indicators including recruitment metrics, such as turnover and retention rates and absence
- Advising the business when negotiating terms and conditions of employment with staff
- Providing advice and playing a major role in work reviews and change processes
- Partnering with line managers to review employee relations, performance management, resourcing and staff management
- Using HR information systems to access, input and compile data
- Identifying development needs
- Suggesting new HR technology solutions to improve day-to-day operations (e.g. ATS and HRIS software)
- Managing staff relationships, responding to any queries or problems that they have and managing their expectations
- Researching and recommending performance evaluation methods (e.g. employee appraisal systems)
- Monitoring, reviewing and updating all HR policies and procedures ensuring these are in line with current legislation
- Supporting the business with various capability investigations, including grievance and disciplinary
- Driving the business performance in relation to the organisation’s objectives
- Supporting the business with training and development initiatives, ensuring compliance and competence as appropriate
- Assisting in organising employer branding initiatives

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
- Organisational and administrative skills
- +3 years proven work experience as an HR advisor, or similar role
- Ability to advise and work with senior members of staff
- Hands-on experience with IT programmes and HR systems
- Knowledge of employment legislation
- Personable with strong communication and relationship building capabilities across all levels of the business
- Ability to design clear and fair company policies
- Driven and determined
- Practical and logical; able to solve problems quickly
- Strong ethical standards
- A demonstrable record of success in previous roles
- A working knowledge of computerised HR systems

**Qualifications**
- CIPD Qualified or working towards.
- NVQ Level 4 Personnel Management
