Our team is currently expanding to bring further expertise into Real-World Data and Real-World Analytics. We use our access to large healthcare records, along with our expertise in statistical methods to analyse ethically sourced, clinically curated, anonymised patient data to solve serious unmet medical needs across a wide range of therapeutic areas, enabling a new approach to clinical trial design, drug discovery, development and post-marketing surveillance.

**The Role**

We are seeking a Medical Statistician with a background in statistical modelling for large-scale, real-world observational data. The Medical Statistician needs to be familiar with managing and analysing real-world/observational data in R. The role's main responsibilities include data management and cleaning, data integration, and constructing statistical models to address important clinical questions generated through our collaborations with our life science partners.

The Medical Statistician will work closely with other medical statisticians, epidemiologists, health informaticians and clinicians, as well as the opportunity to collaborate with the wider team of machine learning researchers, machine learning engineers and data scientists within the company.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Preparing statistical analysis plans and undertaking the statistical analyses outlined.
- Recognising problems arising during the execution and analysis of studies and identifying possible solutions.
- Identifying data to be collected, developing coding schedules and extracting and manipulating subsets of the data for use in research projects.
- Preparing data dumps, managing data, performing data cleaning, and providing advice on data preparation.
- Writing relevant sections of any report/paper/presentation, including preparation of graphics for public presentations.
- Presenting findings at internal meetings.

**Requirements**:

- Experience in statistical modelling including longitudinal data analysis and survival analyses.
- Experience in R.
- Experience in conducting analysis of observational/real-world medical research data.
- Independence and initiative to work unsupervised with excellent attention to detail.
- Interest in medical research (e.g. epidemiology, public health)
- Cross-disciplinary problem-solving and project-management skills.
- Ability to assimilate current statistical and mathematical literature on a topic and address investigations accordingly.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.

**Desirable**
- Experience or interest in statistical method development.
- Experience in causal inference or Bayesian methods.
- Experience working across a wide variety of different therapeutic areas.
- Familiarity with database languages; e.g. SQL.
- Documenting, maintaining and organizing well-structured versions of the database schemas and data dictionaries.
