There are three brands under the Sawday’s umbrella. The first is the original Sawday’s, specialising in self-catering places, hotels, B&Bs and pubs with rooms. The second is Canopy & Stars, a collection of yurts, treehouses and other unusual spaces. The third is Paws & Stay, for accommodation with a dog-friendly focus.

This role involves working on the Sawday’s brand. Sawday’s has been a trusted voice in travel for over 25 years. Its purpose is to make the UK and Europe richer places to explore, by seeking out and celebrating special places to stay (and eat) and the fiercely independent, quirky and downright lovely people who run them.

Senior Marketing Executive (Maternity Cover, 12 month contract)

**Reports to**

Marketing Manager

**Responsible for**
- Assisting the Marketing Manager in meeting marketing and revenue targets
- Managing acquisition channels, excluding SEO

**Main tasks and responsibilities**
- Analysing data to inform marketing decisions, sharing insights with the team
- Delivering marketing campaigns to drive visitors to the Sawday’s website with the intention of converting to leads for our collection of places to stay, in line with seasonal demand patterns
- Reviewing website performance and implementing changes to our marketing activity to drive improvements
- Delivery of partnership campaign activity to extend brand reach
- Content marketing. Collaborating with digital and copywriting colleagues, planning and delivering our content marketing to acquire and convert the Sawday’s guest audience
- Leading marketing campaign efforts by recommending appropriate use of the marketing mix to ensure maximum audience reach and engagement
- Ensuring the content strategy is delivered across all social channels. Working alongside the digital coordinator to contribute your ideas for content. Discussing and feeding back on their content plan. Working together to monitor, update and optimise activity - including advertising, content creation and managing day to day comments and communications, creating a vibrant and engaged community
- Delivering monthly marketing updates in meetings
- Managing annual budget and spend
- Demonstrating ROI and reporting on effectiveness of all marketing activities and bespoke campaigns/projects
- Analysing market trends and competitor activity
- Ensuring all activities are on brand and consistent in quality.

**Skills and experience**

**Necessary**
- 5+ years consumer marketing experience (at Marketing Executive level, or higher), either in-house or within agency
- Using data to inform decisions and activity
- Developing and executing imaginative, creative marketing strategies
- Proven track record of having grown engaged communities across social channels
- Ability to carry out simple image manipulation
- Using CRM systems
- Using website content management systems
- Familiarity with other online data capture and survey tools
- Solid understanding of SEO principles and processes
- Content creation and copywriting for digital marketing and social media
- A proven track record of acquisition, conversion and retention of customers
- Strong commercial background
- Excellent written and verbal English.

**Desirable**
- Working in an SME sized business at this level, without the reliance of a large marketing department
- Experience working in the hospitality/travel/tourism or lifestyle sectors
- Experience working for a web-based/e-commerce business.

**Knowledge and qualifications**

**Necessary**
- Education or professional experience in Marketing and/or Media-based discipline and/or professional qualification in Marketing or Digital Marketing (e.g. CIM )
- Positive self-starter who thrives on performance
- Highly inquisitive nature to do things better/differently
- Can influence stakeholders and drive immediate change
- Excellent communicator and strong presentation skills.

**Salary & benefits**
- Salary £28k to £33k, depending on experience
- 12-month fixed term contract
- Full-time, 37.5 hours/5 days per week, although shorter hours may be considered
- 25 days holiday per year, plus bank holidays
- Flexi time and hybrid working, with the option to work some time from home as well as the office (needs to be commutable from Bristol)
