The team/department

Are you an experienced senior event professional experienced in designing and delivering corporate events?

Events are one of our key communications channels at the FCA. We frequently join up with Communications colleagues to ensure alignment across our communications activities and channels.

What you will be doing:
- Provide strategic events advice on new event enquiries from across the organisation, consulting with the business areas to advise if and how an event can achieve their objectives and desired outcomes, and meet the needs of their stakeholders- Lead the planning and delivery of large, complex, high-profile events for external stakeholders, advising business areas on best practice and ensuring the right outcomes, including:
- Event strategy - advise business in how to leverage events as an effective communications channel, devise the most suitable approach in the design and delivery of the event to achieve business objectives and outcome-
- Event management - based on event requirements, create and implement the event planning timeline and manage event from conception to delivery-
- Stakeholder management - advise business area as an event strategist, collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, and constructively challenge as required-
- Financial management - compile cost illustrations, supplier contract management and invoicing, event budgeting and reconciliationThe skills and experience you will have:
- Knowledge of Supplier management - scoping event requirements, experienced in contract negotiations, familiarity of industry standards and best practice, ensure value for money and delivery of suppliers to the highest standards- Marketing and promotion - create marketing plans including determining most appropriate FCA-owned and third-party channels, build bespoke event microsites and registration portal via Cvent- Speaker management, including leading briefings and rehearsals- Delegate communication and management- Venue management, including site visits and selection, on-site managementMinimum:
- Significant experience in a senior corporate event planning role with experience of advising and managing senior internal stakeholders- Working knowledge of Cvent- Experience of planning and delivering virtual and hybrid events- Familiarity with webinar production and virtual event technology

- Excellent stakeholder management skills - offer constructive challenge, influence senior stakeholders- Strategic thinking and sound judgement - able to see ‘the big picture’, make critical decisions, and recognise potential issues- Excellent project management skills - highly organised with the ability to make progress at a rapid pace, managing competing demands and meeting tight deadlines in a rapidly changing environment.- Ability to remain calm under pressure, think on their feet and problem-solve- Highly motivated and able to demonstrate high quality and timely deliverables- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across organisation

Desirable:
- Comfortable with flexible working patterns to meet event requirements
