At times you will be asked to provide a friendly welcome to family and friends visiting hospital, usually for the first time. It would be helpful to have a knowledge about site specific amenities - toilets, changing places, cafes, shops, places of worship and specific departments and services on site. An induction will be provided to support you with this. At times you may be asked to offer 1:1 support to individual family and friends via the telephone or face to face.

You will support with planning and organising events, workshops and other activities for families and friends. Support with administrative tasks such as promoting events and activities, and developing the Families and Friends Information Pack and Newsletters. Support with gathering feedback from Family members e.g. through surveys.

You will be able to share personal experience where it is helpful in the support of families and friends. We will welcome your ideas as we work together to develop the role.
