Volunteer Cafe Assistant

The Trust recognises the important role volunteers play in complementing the work of our staff and we welcome the varied and unique contributions volunteers make to patients, carers, the public, and staff at the Trust.

Cafe Oasis is part of the Occupational Therapy team at Langdon, providing vocational opportunities to patients and food service to staff, patients and visitors.

You will be volunteering along site patients and Cafe Oasis team, including Occupational Technical Instructors and Cafe Assistant. You will be given instructions by the lead member of the team and assist with jobs at the front of the house. You will need to be confident and proactive due to the busy nature of the service. Experience in catering would be desirable but not essential. You will need to have good interpersonal and communication skills and a genuine interest in working with people as you will be required to interact with a wide range of people.

We support men from the South West area of England who, as a consequence of their mental health needs, have had contact with the legal system and require a safe and secure environment that enables them to receive a wide range of treatments, therapies and care to assist in their recovery. People staying with us may have medium secure, low secure or open accommodation.
